Dwarf Juniper

Bonsai Tree's...a few questions. Best Answer!?

Ok, so I would really like to have a bonsai tree but have no experience with them at all. I've been reading up on them and am ready to try planting one but I have a few small questions.

Say I want to use a bush...like a Juniper, now to make it look like a tree I need to remove the limbs around the base if I understand correctly. How do I do this so that it doesn't "look" like I just cut limbs off. I feel like that would look funny....like just chopping limbs off a regular tree. So how do you do this to make it look natural?

Any recomendations on what kind of tree you think looks best?

If I use a coniferous tree how would I keep it from growing cones on it? Surely you can't just let it grow them can you...or would they be dwarf cones?

Just some pointers for a first timer please!

Just pick the new cones off. just cut the lower branches till the trunk stands out. Hold the tree up to the horizon and if it looks like a tree on a far away hill, then you've done it proper. Don't forget every second year to remove the tree out of the pot and remove about one third of its roots. Dont cut the fine ones but cut the bigger ones off and then repot.
