I have a fish pond in my back yard. With four (used to be five) big fish. There is a pelican that lives around my house that has killed one fish that I know of. How with out killing the bird can I protect my fish? I have a net over it but this is not visually pleasing, are there methods or devices made for this problem?

I have heard that a weeping willow is a voracious drinker and will 'drink up' standing puddles of water in a yard, but will it drink so much as to make it a problem for my pond and its inhabitants? (the pond is a square 1/2 acre and is about 12 feet deep.) It is my wife's favorite type of tree and I would like to plant one for her.
The pond is supplied by runoff and will not quickly refill without sufficient rainfall.

I am looking for an environmentally safe and effective way to remove the cat tails from the ponds on my property. I would like to remove most or all of them as they are overpowering the pond.

I want to make an inexpensive water pond and i am not sure how to do it. Anyone with any ideas or websites to go to?
The kind of water pond i am wanting is like a goldfish pond in the yard. I do not want one of those black hard plastic inserts in the ground, i want a rock one.

I have a lot of algae build up on my lights and pumps for my pond, the pumps and housings for the lights are plastic. What can I use to get them looking new again?

My pond is rubber-lined and doesn't seem to be holding water like it should. Is there an easy way to find a hole in the rubber, if that is the problem?

There is about a 1/4 inch of clay in the bottom and on the marginal shelves of my 300 gallon pond. I have not added fish or plants yet. The water is already murky but has only been in the pond for 3 days. Should I empty and refill before proceeding with living things or just let it sit for a few more days first?

I bought 2 Koi on accident thinking they were gold fish, and now I really want to build a koi pond in the back, a small one. No water fall. Just simple and not too deep unless its needed. How much do you think it would cast to get that done?
